Finally a P09
« on: February 06, 2018, 09:46:24 PM »
Took the day off and finally picked up a new 9mm P09 this morning.  After cleaning, headed to the range with my handloads-147 gr SNS over WSF.  Started off shooting a little low, probably because I've been shooting Glocks quite a bit lately.  After dialing in,  doubt I will be shooting Glocks for a while.  Liking the P09.

Awesome.  My CZ's slow fired groups really tighten up with 124gr fodder, NATO being some of the best.

Thanks.  My favorite load uses 124gr PD JHP but I still find myself loading lots of the 147s.

Congrats on the new P09.  Great gun.  Mine has a steady diet of 124gr.

I had mine worked over by CGW which made a nice gun even better.

J Lee--try it from a rest as you are making the transition from the Glock geometry and trigger to the CZ P-09.  You will be very happy with the result.

I've got two P-09s and one P-07.  All three are match gun tight mechanically.  I've had high score in our small local bullseye matches with my original P-09 and the P-07 with red dots mounted.  There is something special about the lock-up and dwell time that CZ has achieved with the modern guns that is extraordinary for a production pistol.  My friends with custom 1911 pistols marvel at my "plastic guns" when I shoot them in a match instead of a CGW 97B"E".

Congrats, I've had a p-09 since late November - just shy of 2k rounds through it now. I've enjoyed every single round, one of the best handgun experiences I've had. Already have another 09 and 07 as well. These are fantastic pistols IMO.
List of guns here?

My P09 9MM is the most accurate semi-auto pistol I've ever fired.  I need to shoot it more often.

I have a P09 in .40 S&W that I probably don't shoot twice in a year.  It's just not as accurate as my P07 (.40 S&W) or the 9MM P09.  Took it to the range the other day and it still did better than my youngest son's Beretta 90-Two (also in .40 S&W).  Accuracy is a relative thing.  My 9MM P09 and the .40 S&W P07 have spoiled me, I suppose.

You made a good choice.
Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.  So, if you see me walking the dogs with my SIG 556R, its okay.

Currently carrying the P07.  Can't yet tell which one I shoot better.

Now to buy some extra 44$ magazines. :)

The new P10C magazines fit the P07 and they are about $10 cheaper per magazine.

Check out Greg Cote, LLC.

I keep at least 5 mags for every handgun in the safe.  Have the P07 covered.  Need 3+ more for the 09.

You're right.  It just hit me we were talking about P09's.  Maybe, when CZ comes out with the full size P10 those mags will interchange with the P09, too.
