In the event of an emergency I want to be prepared to feed the family of 4.  Food & water duration amount recommendations?  Ammo?  Fuel storage, Other?

Pressure canner.  You need 10psi or more to safely can non acid foods, meats, etc. for storage without need for refrigeration.  Nothing like a supply of one's own favorite recipes and harvest from the garden.  Spaghetti sauce,  salsa, soups, chili -- ideally from meat taken from legally hunted wild game.

Generator.  Wood stove or high efficiency fireplace insert.  Chainsaw...

Starting fires, cooking over coals.

If you are able to do those things now, you won't be learning the principles fresh after the SHTF.

Add pharmaceuticals-if your insurance etc allows extra to be purchased for storage.
If you have a stent in an artery, drugs are probably required to keep it clear.

How about refrigerated insulin for a Type One diabetic? A small generator well outside doors/windows can be required for a refrigerator.

Guns and ammo are no substitute for drugs which keep you alive.
But this is not exciting enough to hold peoples' attention, and you can't create a movie simply out of bottles of pills and insulin, food and water, can you?

With all due respect, prepping is not just about acquiring ?stuff?. I strongly urge you to seek out the podcast ?The Survival Podcast?. Dig into the iTunes archives and find show topics of interest to you prior to episode 1000. Or, just start catching up from episode 1 😀

Just not exciting!  Unless you're 68 and require 5 medication daily ... and then there's the three knee replacements ... and the arthritic back ... lose my glasses and I'm truly SOL!

People might suffer from high blood pressure or migraines in much younger age. Having at least 3-6 months supply of needed medications will help to survive. Of course it won't help in case of global catastrophe.
