Seems like op has the older model due to no notch to the right of the end plate.

Yes, after re-reading this I agree, since I have the 2018 production White Nitride with the striker notch. I would still call CZ and see what can be done. I also noted that the newest ones did not have the extreme beveling for the slide cover. On the other hand, I still have had no difficulty with my older FDE model.
