Suppressor Ready P07-replace high sights
« on: March 20, 2018, 08:40:29 AM »
Looked through some threads about replacing the high sights on the PO7, but they seem to focus on a little more complex than I want. I want to retain my existing holsters. I want to stay simple (even thinking that the stock non-suppressor ready sights might be better). I am toying with more competition shooting (shot my first match this weekend - sucked badly) but not wanting to go overboard in upgrades. Would like to find an option I can do myself instead of sending the slide off.
Any suggestions?
Not blaming the P07, but I am shooting left on everything. At the match this weekend that killed me on the longer shots. My 1911, my Walther PPS and even my .32 PPK and my Single Six revolvers, I am pretty much dead on. So that tells me it is a grip or trigger finger issue.
Did not research my P07 before I bought it. I have purchased a RAMI as well in the interim (left as well). I bought the P07 on a lark. Just looked cool and liked the feel. Probably should have found a plain P07.
CZ - 75B, SP01 tactical;
Walther PPS, /PPK/s;
1911 - Taurus 9mm, RIA Government, Mil spec;

I have the CZ Custom MTAC rear with their fiber front on my iron-sighted polymer CZs.

Maybe I lucked out but this combo was easy to install - no fitting required.

I personally found the stock sights to be weird - the dots did not line up when the sights were aligned. I hope they fixed that in newer runs. ;-)

the front sight I saw used with it was referenced as the with the 6.5mm fiber optic front.

Yep - HTAC it is. Sorry - not a great morning for multitasking LOL.

Just another question in the area of the P-07 suppressor ready barrel. Is there a replacement standard barrel that would work. For a second i was thinking this was a serialized part and realized the slide, not the barrel was serialized.

Slide and barrel are marked but the frame is the only true serialized part.

A standard barrel ?should? just drop in.

I could see where these upgrades/changes could get addictive. After reading the pinned thread in this section about tuning up the P07, seriously considering purchasing the Cajun Works Pro Upgrade Kit along with my sights - that would be about $300. I have never worked on a gun, other than basic field strip and clean. So this could be interesting. Won't be spending the $145 or so for the stock barrel. Not much value derived there in terms of expense.

If you want to talk addictive, just wait until you see the Cajunized results ;-)

I can believe. Cajun rep did say the single biggest improvement in SA functioning is replacing the hammer (and springs).
Might make the first order the sights and the hammer/spring and see how that goes.

Oh yes ... the hammer upgrade really cleans up the SA pull.

I guess this comment applies here. I have been consistently shooting left and low with both this p07 and my very new rami.
Spent late afternoon at range trying to work through the issue with the p07.
One handed, left handed pretty good.  Right hand all left.  Worked through different finger positions, grips. No change. For grins drifted rear sight to right a bunch and things improved. Nearly flush with the edge of the groove. Must still be me.
For sanity checked grabbed my 9mm 1911 and was dead on.
