Cz 550 fs
« on: April 15, 2018, 04:42:21 PM »
I’ve noticed some 550fs in different calibers back in stock some places, can we expect a slow trickle in like the 452s? I’m looking for one 550fs in the 6.5x55 with my fingers crossed. What are you guy’s seeing?

There's a few on Gunbroker, but only one used but unfired in 6.5, and it's already over $1K.

I haven't seen any listed from the usual shops like Bud's, Whittaker's, or Damascus.

It's possible some could trickle in from contracts that weren't fulfilled. Hard tellin'.

I just received one of these 550 FS rifles in .30-06 on friday.  The one I got was manufactured in 2010, still NIB, with an A serial number prefix, a plastic floor plate and follower, and was marked S.D.N. Mexico D.F. (Mexican DOD).  My guess is it was a contract that was never paid, so they put the (I'm assuming) barreled actions into an FS stock.  Mine is not roll marked "550 FS", as is the norm, but simply "550".  So just know that these rifles are new in box old stock.  I'm somewhat happy because I believe that it will likely be a fantastic shooter.  However, I am VERY disappointed at the plastic on my otherwise excellent firearm.

Who did you order through? I think it would be worth a call to cz  and ask for the proper metal for this gun unless it was advertised that way. All they can say is yes/no  50/50 worth a try.

The more recent versions of 550 rifles with box magazines came with a plastic floor plates, and followers.

Metal versions are available from CZ-USA.
