Kadet metal
« on: April 29, 2018, 11:52:59 PM »
Are Kadets steel? If so, is there risk in having them sliding against the aluminum frame of a P01 when firing? It seems like it wouldn't be good  to have steel rubbing against aluminum. Is it okay?
The fleet:
CZ 75 P-01
CZ 75b SA
S&W 19-3
S&W/Aero AR-15
Remington 870 Wingmaster
M1 Garand

The original slide is steel as well, so no difference. I've yet to see galvanic corrosion on any of my aluminum framed pistols. In addition to the two dissimilar metals, corrosion also requires an electrolyte. I wouldn't worry about it.

Most, if not all, aluminum frame guns have steel slides.  Nothing to worry about it, in and of itself.

This is great to know! I was more worried the steel would grind the aluminum out, since it's a lot stronger, but if the main slide is steel, then I feel a lot better since the Kadet does move against the aluminum frame's slide rails.

Yes, to a point
The Mail part of the Slide does not move, but the "Bolt" does run within the Frame Rails
BUT .... you will NEVER shot enough Rounds to see even the slightest wear    8)
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

That sounds like a challenge. I'll see you in 10,000 rounds!   O0
