CZ building a factory in US?
« on: May 15, 2018, 09:33:47 PM »
Seem to recall a while ago, there was a thread on the possibility of CZ building a factory in the US.

Any update to this or is my memory failing me :o

According to guy I work through (who has the direct contacts), it should be in production before the end of summer. Should have US made products in time for the Czech Centennial.

Some of the models of the Bren & Scorpion will be produced stateside, which makes things easier for 922r compliance.

If all the rumors are true, I think they will do really well for themselves provided quality to cost ratio stays constant.

It is and I have no idea when it will be up and running. I know that the person who spilled the beans wasn't supposed to too early, but it is what it is. I HOPE they build BRENs and such there, specifically BREN 2s....but we'll see. :D

The "New Products for 2018" list I was given back in November of 2017 specifically lists some of the models of the Scorpion and Bren as "Assembled in USA".

That's due to import restrictions - they come in as pistols and are assembled into rifles.  :-\ CzechpointUSA does the same thing, importing as limited ten rounder's and then quite legally building them into regular rifles.

I'm glad to see that CZ, and HK, are finally building manfacturing facilitys here in the U.S. I guess it finally dawned on them, that if another president like Obumbo comes along (and it's just a matter of time) A simple EO, and all of a sudden, they'd have a real hard time getting their products, parts in. Anyway, this is a good thing..

Based on the info I found, USA sales is about 50% of CZ-UB's production.
