Matching Kadet Serial Numbers
« on: May 22, 2018, 02:01:48 PM »
Am I correct that the Kadet pistol has matching serial numbers?  I see there is a Kadet pistol listed on a popular sales site and the frame has a different serial number.  I have a Kadet and all the serial numbers match.   Did CZ manufacture any Kadets that did not have matching serial numbers?  Thanks!

Yes, a true Kadet pistol will have matching serial numbers.

Says warranty card for slide in description. Also appears it might be on a glossy blue frame and full Kadet would not. It looks like mine which is on glossy frame.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

This odd duck listing has been posted/commented on the forum a couple months ago. It didn?t sell back then. The frame is actually a ?short rail? type based on the SN and Made in Czechoslovakia marking on one line. Hard to say if the trigger guard was modified after leaving the factory (and obviously brings into question if it?s the original blued finish). So, not an original Kadet pistol, this one.

I agree, definitely NOT an original, complete Kadet pistol.

Frame is made in Czechoslovakia but the kit has a CZUB Logo which came out later, not the original CZ logo.
Slide assembly has very obviously been fitted to another pistol at one point (look at the rails).

Test target with matching serial number  shows a test date of 02.03.00 (March 2, 2000 using European date convention).
Frame is much earlier than that date (1993 or prior) .
Case does not belong to the pistol frame (wrong case logo) but may be for the kit (mine, BL90xx purchased new in 2000 looks similar and is black).

The trigger looks to be from a version that includes a trigger over travel stop (not original to that frame).
As mentioned in the prior post, the trigger guard appears to have been modified as well (squared off portion added).

Overall a very expensive asking price for a parts gun.

Upon reviewing the frame?s SN, I think it is from 1977 when the CZ 75 officially began serial production with SN 10000. I don?t have my reference sources with me at this time but there?s a forum thread started in 2009 about the ?tough metal legend? in which a lot of production and SN information is shared. There?s always the chance this wasn?t a modified trigger guard. I emailed the seller and no additional info was available.
