I was looking at my local Steel Challenge Competition rules last night..... ONLY factory commercial rounds allowed. No reloads allowed at all.  If I want to play in their game - the cost of shooting will go up some.
MD,  they are likely trying to avoid potential law suits and/or potential damage to their targets.  One of my shooting matches won't allow the Blade Tech "finger release" holsters after one shooter shot himself in the upper leg on the draw.  Luckily he had a 22 conversion kit on his 40 cal pistol. One of my RO duties is to spot this type holster and make users start from "Low Ready".
One ambitious lawyer can cost your club big bucks if there is an incident and some kind of "blame" can be dug up.

It seems as though everything in life is now ruled by "what would happen if an ambitious lawyer" got into the mix.  Yeah, no Serpa style holsters allowed.  I'm OK with it.  It still looks like lots of fun.  I just gotta go pick up some more mags and then go sign up!  Good times ahead!

My usual is to shoot two to three pistols and 50 to 100 rounds each once a week.  I only bring 150-200 rounds to the range to limit myself.  Sometimes I'll go twice a week, but shoot 100 rounds in one pistol.
All of life’s journeys begin by putting one foot in front of the other.

Yes I shoot a lot that's why I have 5 reloaders and 3 are progressive.

Today I limited myself to 50 GOOD shots with the 97B"E", 30 at 50 yards and 20 at 25 yards, standing single hand.  Video later tonight.  A good day with my favorite centerfire bullseye match pistol.

I fired my first two rounds at the 15 yd handgun target yesterday - and I didn't want to shoot at it anymore.
Everything after this would look like a miss. LOL

Yesterday I shot:
250 handgun,
100 .556
80 7.62x39
60 .308

I was pinging the steel at 150 yds at a rate of about 8/10 with my CZ75 SP-01Tac.
I would have hoped for better accuracy out of the rifles, but they were all 16" carbines - shooting TulAmmo.

It was a perfect day!

I have been going to the range at least twice a week lately (last couple months) but Mother nature has turned up the snow and cold and other goodies so I have not gone this week ! :( But leading up to this week I have been going on Tuesdays and Sundays. I always "bring" at least 300 rds with me but many times 400,,don't always shoot it all but better to bring some home than run out I say !! I typically bring two guns my PO-7 and my SP-01 but have been concentrating on the 07 for the majority of the time. I wanted to concentrate on the 07 cuz I knew I was going to be taking a Defensive Pistol Class last Saturday (10March) so really hit it hard with the 07. Anyways for the Class I brought 750rds,,,LOL I knew I wouldn't use it all but again better to bring some home ! I ended up going through a little over 400 so it was a very good day and yes my 07 ran without a hitch !!  :) I'm just using the Indoor range for now but once the weather breaks and I can get outside things will change for sure. Depending on what I bring I will bring at least a couple hundred rds for everything except for my Long Range/Precision rifles. I will typically bring 50 rds or so, really depends on what range I go to. My close range is only 100yrds and it is where I check my reloads and figure basic stuff out but I have a 600yrd range I go to also and I will bring more ammo for that place. Most of the time its a easy choice and I don't have to bring 5 different cans with different ammo because all my main rifles are 30/06 so its all good. I'll bring a couple M1s my 1903A3 & my1903A4 and be content for the day. I just acquired my CZ 527 in 223 so I will be bringing that also as time goes on but that about covers it I guess !  ;D

depends on what we're doing.
today I went to a range with my buddy  (he's a member there) that allows you to draw. So we had a 75 foot range (outdoors)
that we can go down to 25 feet.
2 6 plates set ups. Mano a Mano. Man :)  When we practice drawing and timing ourselves we go through a ton of ammo.
I shot 250 rounds just with my Shadow 2 without breaking a sweat.
then we went inside and shot another 150 on paper,me with my M&P 9l with red dot, he had his glock 34 also with Red dot.
If I am just shooting Paper I only bring 100-15 with me and really slow it down and work on Precision.
make it criminal to own a gun and only criminals will own them

300-400 rounds once a month. I usually shoot 100 out of either my Witness or Tokarev and 50 out of the other, rent a pistol and a box of ammo, or just 100 out of each with or without a rental plus 100 out of my Saiga or PTR91 alternating months. I'm hoping to go shooting more often but that will require increasing my standing in life via a better job.

My outdoor range is only about 100ft long (outside my back door).  To shoot longer I go to a friends house or in the field next to us (when the steer are not in there).

Including matches I shoot about 1000-1500 per month.  I just started 2-gun but do a lot of steel matches so a lot of practice transitioning between targets.
Some trust in chassis, Some in Horsepower, But we trust in the Lord our God.

If it goes "boom" or "vroom" I'm intersted.
