I'm guessing the thin safety that comes with the S2 provides a weight reduction over the wide one it ships with as an extra, in the box.

Rob at CZ Custom said they have to shave metel inside the frame and slide to cut it down enough to make weight.  I like their optic plate mount system a lot for interchanging optics in the future and will be using them for my gun.  Looking forward to it.

here is my current set up. there is still no lightening cuts only th cz custom rds cut. the red dot i am using is the sig romeo 1, the dpp with my current set up would make it over the 45 oz limit. with the shield rms it would be lighter.

Good looking set up.

We have cut we do that includes a slot cut in the slide rib.
This with RDS cut and some other cuts that allows for a 140mm mag and DP Pro and not need to change the guide rod or grips. We offer another cut, that would allow going back to production division.

Great  have a Red Hill as well, it would be nice to not have to get yet another Holster if these optics ready versions actually become available :)
thanks

So I know slide cuts, including through cuts are now carry optics legal. I assume frame cuts are legal now as well?

frame cuts? not yet sure about that. I'll try posting that question at the uspsa site. I know undercuts on trigger guard/ beavertail and removal of finger grooves are allowed.

It?s surpisingly not much additional weight. Only a couple grams difference. I like the extended safety so it?s worth the additional weight IMO.

Where are you grasping the slide when you rack it?

It looks like the red dot body has a bit of a built-in rear sight notch.  How useful is that with the factory front sight if the red dot stops working?

I too have a milled Shadow 2 with Romeo 1 but I left the front sight on. It doesn't line up at all with the notch. The co-witness happens right about where the middle of the front post body protrudes over the notch. Hard to explain but can get a photo later this evening.

Thanks for this thread OP, I'm waiting on a scale to come in tomorrow so I can get an official weight on my S2 and see if I still need to get the carbon fiber grips to make CO weight.

DEX_RX do you have issues with the lens of the Romeo 1 cracking with that cut?
